From different places varying from the Swansea beach, Newport cliff walk, Newport Ocean Drive, and Fort Adams I had used the ocean as my main subject matter. The photographs taken were at different locations and different times of the day resulting in the changes of light. To unify all the photos I had placed a filter on all of the photos causing the changes of light to go unnoticed. The reason I had chosen water as the subject matter is because the beach is my favorite place to go! The beach also has a lot of beauty in all of the little things, such as how the waves look different every time or the way they crash a different way. The pictures really tie together especially through the filter allowing them to all have the same feeling when you look at them without getting overwhelmed with all of the differences. The order of the pictures allow for the little bit of variety such as the beginning not focusing on the water but on the pole and then switching in the middle to focus on the water and the rocks mainly but by the end the photos focus on little things such as the rock and the watermelon. The concept being portrayed in the essay is the simplicity of something that looks so intricate!
