I chose this photo because it was really different from every picture I have taken so far! The picture was taken at a waterfall where there was still snow and large icicles being formed. Motion is shown in many places; in the waterfall you can see the water moving like it is frozen there. Also at the bottom of the photo the water is splashing and captured in the air. The picture was taken with an Iphone camera and using the HDR setting. The idea for ground, middle ground, and back ground idea is being shown. The for ground is the closest icicle and the waterfall is the middle ground while the trees and the water to the left is the background it gives the picture and sense of space.
This picture was taken as an example of landscape; it had originally been in color and also larger. I had cropped the picture to make it more focused on the tree and the shadow from the bottom of the tree. The photo being in black and white shows the positive and negative space of the photo also allowing the shadow to be the main point of the picture. The ice on top of the water shows examples of textures. I thought this picture was interesting because of how the shadow is so distinct it makes you look at the whole picture; leading you around the whole photograph.
This picture is one with an example of a small arperture which I focused it on the telephones wire rather then the phone itself. The picture was taken with a manual focus instead of an auto one. I had used a set of lights which had given the telephone shadow, the shadows are really interesting to see because of how on the right of the photo it actually shows the shadow from in between the cord where as on the left its only a solid shadow. The picture allows you to see the space that is in the picture at this angle.
This picture had been taken at the beach; the camera was put on top of a rock and taken from that view point. The picture shows for ground, middle ground and background. The rock closest to the bottom of the picture being the foreground, the water being the middle ground, and the view in the back being the background. The way the waves are and the way the camera captured the shot shows motion in how they move. The photo was also put into black and white because there are many positive and negative spaces that are highlighted more in this filter rather then without one. Texture on the rocks are also seen along with the texture of the water.
This photo had been taken with a white background and a light facing the basket of flowers. The way the basket is set up it guides you through the picture starting from either the top or the bottom of the photo each guiding you up or down. The flowers were focused on but mostly the green leaf had been. The picture shows a large amount of texture from the basket to the pedals of the flower. The green leaf grabs your eye among all of the flowers because of how focused it is! There is a bit of reflection of the light being used on the edge of the leaf.
This picture had also been taken with a white background and light causing a lot of shadows. The shadows are very subtle in this picture, but are there. The photo has a small arperture focusing on the front skull while the ones in the back are blurred. The photo I found really interesting because the front skull is in focus and the positive and negative space is shown by the black and white. The black and white allows you to really see the depth of inside of the skull.
